Worried that little “surprise” you got driving to work the other day might bite you? A simple traffic ticket can cost you in a lot of ways—points added to your driving record and higher car insurance premiums for starters.

Good News! IDriveSafely has a NY DMV-approved online defensive driving course that can help New York drivers like you limit the damage to your record and auto insurance rates.

Dodge License Suspension with This Course!

Too many points can lead to suspended driving privileges in NY. Not good! The threshold is 11 points, which can add up fast with speeding tickets, cell phone violations, failure to yield, etc. No one wants their license taken away!

IDriveSafely’s defensive driving course is actually what the New York DMV and courts call a “PIRP” course. PIRP stands for Point and Insurance Reduction Program, and IdriveSafely’s course does exactly that. Completing the course allows you to reduce up to 4 points on your license record. This could be just what you need to avoid suspension or delay it as long as possible. Don’t let your ticket lead to losing driving independence!

Slash Your Car Insurance Bill

Traffic tickets don’t just add points—they inflate your insurance premiums too. One ticket can spike your rate 20% or more! Ouch.

But completing IDriveSafely’s PIRP course makes you eligible for a 10% NY insurance discount for 3 years. That incentive alone could more than pay for the course. Save big bucks!

This Course is About More than Points and Premiums

Of course, reducing your points and premiums is probably why you’re here, but you’ll benefit more than that. The real focus of the course is improving driving habits to avoid future violations. No lectures—it actually covers helpful skills like:

The training serves as a refresher to make you a smarter, safer driver. You’ll lower your risk and drive with way less stress!

I have a long and checkered history with defensive driving. I took my first "court invited" course at age 15 and realized immediately that there had to be a better way. Since that first experience, I have gone on to teach defensive driving classroom courses and to author four internet courses in 2 states. After nearly 25 years in the industry, I can help you find a course that will be the best fit for you.
