So What Exactly is a PIRP Course Anyway?

PIRP is the NY DMV’s acronym for their Point and Insurance Reduction Program, and the program does exactly what its name suggests. But why is it important?

New York is strict when it comes to driving records. Unpaid tickets, violations, and accumulating points can lead to serious consequences:

That’s why it’s so important to keep your New York driving record clean. A few minor violations can quickly spiral out of control if not properly managed.

The PIRP gives drivers a way to reduce high insurance costs and avoid losing driving privileges due to too many points. It provides both financial and legal relief if you have some blemishes on your record.

John Fabel

I have a long and checkered history with defensive driving. I took my first "court invited" course at age 15 and realized immediately that there had to be a better way. Since that first experience, I have gone on to teach defensive driving classroom courses and to author four internet courses in 2 states. After nearly 25 years in the industry, I can help you find a course that will be the best fit for you.
